Public Procurement workshops 

Tendering for energy efficiency and renewables contracts - June 2016

The Energy Saving Trust in partnership with the Supplier Development Programme are running their second series of one day procurement workshops to help SME contractors and suppliers write winning tender submissions.

The workshops will take during the first two weeks of June at the following locations:

  • Inverary
  • Perth
  • Dumfries
  • Edinburgh

Why attend

The workshops will provide companies with the skills and tools to bid for energy efficiency and renewables contracts in the public sector. They will also help contractors and suppliers who want to understand public procurement and learn to submit better bids.

What topics will be covered? 

  • Why Public Procurement regulations are important and recent changes you need to know about.

  • Writing better bids and top tips for public (and private) sector bids.

  • Selling to the public sector and why it's different.

  • Finding opportunities.

  • Pre-qualification.

  • Do you really know what you are "selling", who are you "selling" to?

  • Invitation to tender.

  • Most economically advantageous tender.

  • What to do if you are unsuccessful.

Barriers workshop for the energy efficiency industry in Scotland - 24 May 2016

This workshop took place at West Lothian College, Livingston and  focused on the barriers facing the energy efficiency industry in Scotland. 

Topics discussed included:

•    funding
•    procurement
•    building regulations
•    planning
•    skills and training
•    certifications
•    consumer protection
•    technology specific issues

Updates were given by representatives from the Scottish Government, Building Standards and the Energy Skills Partnership (representing Scottish Colleges).
