Home renewables loan scheme
Cash for renewable electricity and heat technologies.
A new interest free loan scheme could help you install a renewables system.
What's on offer?
Loans of up to £2,000 are available for a range of renewable heat and electricity generating technologies - for instance heat pumps, solar, micro-wind turbines or biomass boilers.
Those installing electricity generating technologies should also be eligible for Feed-in Tariff payments and anyone installing heat generating technologies may be eligible for the Renewable Heat Premium Payment.
Can I apply now?
Yes, the scheme opened on 1 April 2011, and we are currently accepting applications. There are some things you will need to get together to support your application, including a quote, and an energy report from your local Energy Saving Scotland advice centre.
If you are interested in applying you should call your local Energy Saving Scotland advice centre on 0800 512 012 for more information and to get your energy report.
You can download the loan application from the link below, and send back the completed form, with all the required information to the address detailed on the form.
What else do I need to know?
The loans are time-limited and operate on a first-come first-served basis.
You must also claim your loan within the financial year in which it is offered. This means that if your loan has been offered between 1st April 2011 and 31st March 2012 then we must receive all of your loan claim paperwork by the deadline mentioned in your loan offer or by 31st March 2012, whichever is the sooner.
