Climate Change Action Planning
Under Scotland's Climate Change Declaration (SCCD), all 32 local authorities in Scotland have committed to developing and sharing plans of how they will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change.

Local authority action will be key to meeting the emisions reduction targets set out in the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009.

The Improvement Service's recently revised Menu of Local Outcome Indicators includes ‘CO2 emissions per capita’. Our new briefing note outlines how local authorities and housing associations can develop a strategic approach to carbon emissions reduction, and highlights a number of tools to help you do so.
