The Energy Efficiency Design Awards (EEDA) are a £1 million Scottish Government initiative intended to promote innovative improvements to the energy performance of Scotland's existing homes.
The Scottish Government has announced the 5 winners of the 2009-10 Energy Efficiency Design Awards and launched the start of the 2010-11 Awards.
The awards are open to communities and housing providers and are aimed primarily at the large proportion of Scotland's existing housing which is considered hard to treat, although other build types can apply.
The call for applications is open for 6 months from 19th October 2009 to 19th April 2010. The maximum award for a single project will be £250,000 and an expert judging panel will assess the entries after the closing date.

To support the application process a small amount of development funding is available to assist with the calculations and design elements. Studies financed by the development funding stream must be completed by the end of March 2010.
