Scottish Community Renewables Network (SCRN)
One of the key aims of the Scottish Community and Householder Renewables Initiative (SCHRI) is to support the development of the small-scale renewables industry and raise awareness of its benefits in Scotland. To help make this happen, EST has established the Scottish Community Renewables Network (SCRN). The purpose of the SCRN is to be a network sharing good practice in community and domestic renewables. To achieve this the SCRN will:
- Meet three times per year
- Provide a regular email bulletin, which will contain an update on SCHRI, as well as relevant items of interest from the UK and abroad on small-scale renewables.
The SCRN will focus solely on domestic and community renewables. Membership is open and meetings free to attend. The meetings will be half day, informal events, with a quick update on the SCHRI, followed by three guest speakers drawn from installers, project proponents, manufacturers etc, followed by lunch.
To date meetings have been held in Edinburgh; however SCRN now intends to utilise suitable sites where SCHRI capital projects have been completed, allowing members to see renewable energy technologies first hand. The first of these events is due to take place in July - more information to be issued via the SCRN email bulletins soon.
If you would like to become a member of SCRN please email us SCRN@est.org.uk.
We want this to be your network - any suggestions for the format of the meetings, or the types of guest speakers would be most welcome.
