Decide on your initial focus

At the outset of the process decide whether:

  • You will focus on just one or two of these aspects at first.
  • You will develop an integrated adaptation and mitigation plan or to keep these as separate plans.

Then get started on the five stages to developing an action plan

We suggest you work through five stages to developing an action plan, but please modify our suggested approach to suit your authority's circumstances.

If you are ready to start the process of developing an action plan, or are already developing your plan but would like some ideas on what to do next, go to the five stages page.
