Energy training for staff

Training staff in energy efficiency is a fundamental building block of an effective housing energy strategy. Housing management organisations will be more likely to reach their energy efficiency and affordable warmth targets if staff are well-trained.

This document addresses the need for a designated training officer and outlines four levels of training provision:

  • Basic energy awareness training for all staff
  • In-depth training for staff giving specific energy advice to tenants
  • Policy training for housing managers
  • Technical training for technical officers

"Energy Training for Staff" also covers:

  • Energy advice courses leading to qualifications
  • Other energy advice training courses
  • Refresher courses
  • Energy rating courses
