Online Resource for Planners

Free Online Resource for Planning Professionals

More than a quarter of the UK's CO2 emissions, the main greenhouse gas which causes climate change, comes from domestic energy use.

By implementing sustainable planning policies, local authority planners can make a huge difference to the amount of CO2 that households emit.

You can play a vital role in reducing energy use in homes by putting planning policies in place that increase the use of energy efficiency and renewables in your area.

The Energy Saving Trust has developed the planner's pack to help you. This free online resource has been designed especially for planning professionals and includes briefing notes, information, and case studies that outline how to develop and implement sustainable planning policies which will:

  • Ensure developers build to high levels of energy efficiency and  include renewable technologies
  • Improve the energy efficiency of current housing stock

You can access the planner's pack for free here.
