Solar PV Case Studies

Solar PV Case studies

Below are summaries and links to three final case studies that received grants from the Major Photovoltaic Demonstration Programme.

Argyll Off-grid PV System - A small off-grid PV system was installed to supply the electricity for an ecologically built house close to the remote village of Tighnabruaich in Argyll, Scotland.

Blackpool Centre for Excellence in the Environment - A derelict seafront solarium has been refurbished to act as a Regional Centre of Excellence in Environmental Sustainability in the North West.

Vauxhall Cross Transport Interchange - The Vauxhall Transport Interchange is a striking landmark building in the heart of London. It is an excellent showcase for how PV can both enhance a structure and produce electricity in an urban environment.

The Major Photovoltaic Demonstration Programme has closed, however, click here for information about the Low carbon buildings programme.
