Who are we?
The Energy Saving Trust is a non-profit organisation funded by government and the private sector. Our aim is to cut CO2 emissions and encourage the sustainable use of energy. Government has set targets to reduce CO2 emissions from 1990 levels by 20 per cent by 2020 and we are working towards that.
What do we do?
We have a variety of roles. One is to influence government policy on reducing environmental damage caused by greenhouse gases. As an independent body we can provide thought provoking and challenging information that the government can take forward. We do this in three ways:
Respond to government consultations.
Research reports commissioned by government.
Provide independent research.
To achieve the above we work closely with research organisations, parliamentary select committees, regulatory bodies and other agencies.
