The Energy Saving Trust offers a completely free ‘Fleet Health Check’ for organisations with more than 20 vehicles. An expert consultant will assess your vehicles and their usage, and measure the carbon footprint of your fleet. Based on this audit, and the patterns of vehicle choice and usage in your organisation, you will receive a 10-12 page report showing where and how you can make specific savings, helping you to cut fleet costs and emissions.

The Fleet Health Check service can make a significant contribution to your organisation in two key areas:
- cost – with rising fuel costs and uncertainty in the UK economy, it has never been more important to take action to reduce expenditure on fuel.
- environment – it will help you meet environmental targets and objectives, allowing you to demonstrate your environmental credentials to a range of internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory compliance.
Typically, fuel cost and emissions savings of 10-20% are identified, realistically achievable over three years.
Our experienced fleet experts will work with you by phone and email to:
- Quantify carbon emissions resulting from fleet and staff business travel activity
- Estimate the amount you could reduce your fuel bill and carbon emissions through implementation of good practice measures. Typically, savings of 15-20% are identified.
- Provide specific recommendations tailored to your organisation and advise on securing buy-in from senior stakeholders in your organisation.
We can work with whatever data you provide regarding your fleet vehicles and how they are driven. A Fleet Health Check is intended to be as simple and convenient as possible for our clients, with no need to spend lots of time preparing and collating data.
Free, impartial fleet advice
Our Fleet Health Check is a free service, so impartial cost-cutting advice comes at no cost. The Fleet Health Check is available to all organisations with 20 or more vehicles under 3.5 tonnes.
We will assess your vehicles and their usage, measure your emissions and benchmark your fleet’s performance. You will receive a detailed report showing where you can make specific cost and carbon savings and how you can achieve them. We can also offer ongoing support with implementation of our recommendations, through free workshops and telephone advice.
