Transport
We support strong policy measures to decarbonise the transport sector. Fiscal, regulatory and behavioural change policy measures are needed to reduce demand for the most polluting modes of travel, promote the uptake of low carbon vehicles, and encourage efficient driving. We support the conclusion of the King Review of Low Carbon Cars to decarbonise cars by 2050, but recognise that measures are also needed to limit demand for both road and air transport.
We produce research on the effectiveness of certain policy measures on reducing CO2 from transport and we use evidence-based research to inform our policy influencing. Most recently we used the Energy Saving Trust Market Transformation Model Passenger Car Report to influence the King Review.
