New Housing
The Energy Saving Trust undertakes a range of research and produces a variety of publications in relation to newbuild housing - for instance, producing guidance on how to achieve the energy performance requirements of Code 3-6, and investigating issues relating to potential owners of low-carbon homes. We aim to feed this research into the development of newbuild policy. Recently we joined the 2016 Task Force on zero-carbon newbuild.
Existing Housing
The Energy Saving Trust undertakes a range of research and produces a variety of publications in relation to existing housing - for instance, producing guidance on how to refurbish homes to 60 per cent and more reductions in carbon emissions, and supporting a number of advanced refurbishment projects. We aim to feed this research into the development of policy on existing housing. We are a member of the Existing Homes Alliance and supports the call for a long-term strategy for reducing emissions from the housing stock by 80 per cent. It is producing a publication on how this might be achieved.
