Devolved Nations
We work closely with the government's in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and currently have experts seconded to the to the Scottish Government's Climate Change Team and to the Welsh Assembly government to help develop the forthcoming National Energy Efficiency and Savings Plan. In 2004/5 we also helped the Scottish Government to develop its energy efficiency and microgeneration strategy via a secondment to the energy efficiency unit.
Scotland
We recently published `Generating the Future: An analysis of policy interventions to achieve widespread microgeneration penetration in Scotland'. This report outlines the policies that will be required to ensure that microgeneration meets its full potential in Scotland, and is based on modelling work funded by the Scottish Government. It is the most comprehensive study on microgeneration policy ever to be undertaken in Scotland.
The Energy Saving Trust Scotland was represented on an expert panel who were convened in late 2007 by the Scottish Government to advise on the development of a low carbon buildings strategy for Scotland. Our policy publication `Pathways Beyond Zero Carbon Homes' formed the basis of our contribution to the panel.
Wales
In Wales, over the last 8 months, we have provided comprehensive written and oral input to the Welsh Assembly's Sustainability Committee's ongoing inquiry into Carbon reduction in Wales.
We have also secured representation on the Climate Change Commission for Wales, and our staff sit on a number of the Commission's subgroups. The purpose of the Commission for Wales is to guide and oversee all of the work undertaken on climate change in Wales.
We have just produced a new report:
Low Carbon Citizens - a step-by-step guide to meeting the 3% target for personal emissions in Wales

Northern Ireland
In Northern Ireland we contributed to the DETI's commissioned review of Northern Ireland's energy efficiency target at the end of last year, and more recently have we have recently provided oral evidence as part of the Committee Stage of the Building Regulations (Amendment) Bill (Northern Ireland) 2008. Over the coming year we will be working closely with the Regulator (NIAUR) to support the review of the Energy Efficiency Levy (the Energy Saving Trust in Northern Ireland currently evaluates all projects submitted under the levy and provide technical advice to assist in project development).
