Course Outlines
Making it happen
An opportunity for the community and voluntary sector to meet potential project partners from the energy sector and take part in hands on, practical planning exercises for their own community energy project. Delegates will examine the challenges of running a community based sustainable energy project, learn new project planning skills and refresh existing skills.
Finding out about energy
Community groups and individuals will learn about energy efficiency, sustainable energy use and renewable energy technologies. This course will show you how community energy projects can play an important role in saving energy and reducing CO2 emissions and how you can get involved.
Funding
This course will assist in the development of successful funding bids for community energy projects. In particular, the training will assist in the identification of sources for community funding, as well as the writing and submission of bids. The course is primarily aimed at those who are working (paid or voluntary) in the community energy sector.
Energy Auditing
If you would like to be able to carry out a basic energy audit of a community building then this course will show you some of the processes involved. This includes monitoring of consumption along with identifying the potential savings that could be made through the introduction of energy efficiency improvements.
Planning for success
A follow-up to 'Making it happen', this course is for members with existing community energy projects who want to make the most of their ideas and expertise, maximise help available and secure on-going funding.
