Resources for Planning
More than a quarter of the UK's CO 2 emissions, the main greenhouse gas which causes climate change, come from domestic energy use.
By implementing sustainable planning policies that increase the use of energy efficiency and renewables in your area, local authority planners can make a huge difference to the amount of CO2 that households emit.
The Energy Saving Trust has developed separate planners support packs for local authorities in England and Scotland.
These free online resources have been designed especially for planning professionals and include briefing notes, information, and case studies that outline how to develop and implement sustainable planning policies which will:
- Ensure developers build to high levels of energy efficiency and include renewable technologies
- Improve the energy efficiency of current housing stock
