Big Energy Saving Week 2018

Big Energy Saving Week is back between 22nd - 28th January 2018.

During this week, we’re calling on you to take control of your energy bills by adopting some simple energy saving tips as well as switching to a better energy deal and saving up to £300

We’ve also put together a guide on financial help that may be available to you to help make your home warmer and cheaper to run.

Big Energy Saving Week

Have I missed out on £1,500?

Did you know that more than nine million households haven’t switched energy deals for six years? And if that’s you, you’ve likely missed out on £1,500. It’s easier to switch than you may think and the Energy Switch Guarantee means it'll take a maximum of 21 days. You can use this tool to compare prices and get a better deal.

Am I falling foul of common switching myths?

  • In some cases, you can change tariff or supplier even if you’re behind on your bills. Speak to your supplier.

  • No work is required on your house. The pipes and wires all stay the same, all you change is who is billing you.

  • It only takes 21 days to change energy supplier, including a 14 day cooling off period if you change your mind.

  • Once you’ve picked your new supplier, they do all the work for you

  • You can switch on the phone or online. And if you want to compare prices but not use the internet, Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline can help – 03454 04 05 06.

  • Moved house? You can change supplier straight away.

  • Want to move to a smaller supplier? Don’t worry, you’ll never be left without power or gas. All your energy is provided centrally.

How else can I get involved?

To celebrate the week we’re running competitions with prizes. Why not take our quiz and be in with a chance of winning £1,500 towards your energy bills. Terms and conditions apply.
