Many communities want to act to reduce their carbon emissions.

The Energy Saving Trust advice centre Anglia has supported communities to become the most energy saving in Cambridgeshire. We helped the communities make the most of their energy.

Following tough competition from 10 communities Warboys has been selected for ?Village Green?.

Ashley Baxter, Manager of the Energy Saving Trust advice centre, said ?We are talking to Warboys representatives to choose the best activities to help the community make the most of their energy. We are offering every home a free home energy report that will give them an energy rating between A ? G, the best get an A and the others get suggestions of what options they could take. This should help a typical household save up to £270 and reduce their carbon emissions by two tonnes. We will also be bringing our team of expert Energy Drs into the village in September to offer people face:face energy saving advice including generating their own energy and travelling with lower carbon emissions. We hope to help some community groups make their buildings more energy efficient as well.?

We will work with all the communities who enter Village Green and help them towards their energy saving goals. We can help communities to identify sources of funding and support for community energy saving activities, such as the Community Action For Energy programme (Café) further details of which can be found click here

A very effective tool for helping households to identify energy savings is to complete a free Home Energy Check click here This can save a typical household £270 per year and two tonnes of climate changing carbon dioxide.
