In response to the challenge laid down in the Government's Energy White Paper, the Energy Saving Trust is piloting a network of Energy Saving Trust Advice Centres.
Funded by Defra and BERR, these centres raise awareness of sustainable energy at a regional level and make it easier, simpler and cheaper for people to take action in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energy and transport.
Our Energy Saving Trust Advice Centres' three key roles are to:
- Develop the infrastructure in their region to make it easier and simpler for people to take sustainable energy action in their homes and in their transport choices
- Provide a one stop shop sustainable energy information and advice service
- Provide leadership and a focal point for regional sustainable energy initiatives
The Energy Saving Trust began piloting this exciting initiative in April 2005 in Northern Ireland, the North East and Anglia. The pilot ran until March 2007. We now plan to roll out 21 new advice centres across the UK between 2007 and 2008.
Shaping the future of the Energy Saving Trust Advice Centre network
The Energy Saving Trust is working with a range of partners in each English region, Scotland and Wales to develop Energy Saving Trust Advice Centre networks. We are facilitating a number of consultation events around the UK.
