The Energy Saving Trust's Undercover Reporter Finn observed his family and monitored their wasteful behaviour.
Finn took part in a unique piece of research to highlight his family’s wasteful habits in the home. At the start and end of the week long task Finn’s family was visited by an Energy Saving Trust Energy Doctor who carried out a Home Energy Check, and discovered what local grants were available to help them make energy efficient changes to their home.
“Yes, I hope they will stop leaving so many lights on by switching a lights off every time they leave a room” Finn McKeown – Undercover Reporter
The main issue Finn uncovered with his family was that they are guilty of leaving lights on around the house. He also learned that his family waste more energy than he originally thought.
The McKeown's, through Finn's findings, are set to be more careful with what they do and pay more attention in what they are doing, this is something Finn thought would apply to many families.
They are now ready to take the next steps and become even more energy efficient and save money.
