Oxford Street's John Lewis department store has unveiled plans to launch a green transport scheme.
The London branch is starting an all-electric, business class, customer shuttle bus service to facilitate shopping for consumers.
John Lewis is the first retailer to offer this kind of green transport service, which aims to persuade shoppers to ditch their cars for the zero emission bus.
Boris Johnson, mayor of London, welcomed the initiative.
He said: "It is fantastic that shoppers will be able to travel in style this Christmas in a super, clean and green electric shuttle bus.
"I am a huge fan of electric vehicles which have no fumes belching out of their exhaust pipes and I want to make these eco-friendly, fuel bill-busting vehicles an easier choice for motorists in London."
Green Urban Transport Sustainable initiative will be providing and operating the vehicles, which are based on the Smith Edison chassis.
John Lewis hopes the green transport scheme will help to reduce the capital's transport carbon footprint.
