Three wind turbines are to be erected in Gloucestershire after planning permission was granted today (November 13th), it has been reported.
Earthcott Green has been given the green light to build the giant turbines as part of a renewable energy project, according to the Gazette.
Councillors voted in favour of the application despite some opposition from local people who were concerned about the impact it may have on their quality of life.
There were also fears that the wind farm could disturb local wildlife and ruin the skyline.
The turbines will measure 64 metres to the hub and 100 metres to the tip of the blades.
Up to 6.9 megawatts of electricity will be generated for the National Grid by the three green energy turbines.
Earlier this week, supermarket giant Tesco applied to south Gloucestershire's planning department to build a 6kW wind turbine in its Midland Way store car park.
