Plans for a renewable energy biomass plant have been resubmitted with some alterations.
Eco2 has adjusted the height of the proposed buildings of the straw-powered Sleaford Renewable Energy Plant after permission was denied in an 18 to 16 vote.
The £80 million plant will generate 40MW if constructed following adjustments to limit its visual impact.
Eco2 chief executive David Williams said: "We take the responsibility of working with the local community very seriously and have directly addressed the issues raised. We are confident we have achieved this by lowering the profile of the plant, together with 10,000 metres squared of trees and shrubs, and landscaping to further screen the plant from view."
He also noted that renewable energy has a part to play in combating climate change.
As well as increasing the percentage of energy which comes from renewables ¿ the government has set a ten per cent target by 2010 ¿ reducing the amount of energy used also helps reduce emissions.
Energy efficiency measures, such as installing insulation, lower energy bills as well as carbon emissions which contribute to global warming.
