OriginOil is preparing to present the technology which transforms algae into an alternative fuel at the Next Generation Biofuels Markets conference.
The conference, which takes place in October, will bring together "major industry players in alternative energy", said OriginOil chief executive Riggs Eckelberry, adding: "We're honoured to have been invited to speak."
Delegates to the one-day seminar will be able to examine the "rapidly evolving market" of the biofuels industry and discuss algae as a "sustainable, viable" and "low-cost feedstock".
Mr Eckelberry's attendance at the conference will mark the second public discussion of the technology challenges facing the industry and the possible solutions to solve the algae-to-oil sector.
In related news, a project to commercially produce sustainable, carbon-neutral biofuel from algae has recently received a financial boost from a Finnish oil refining company.
Neste Oil Corporation has agreed to give the loan to professor Yusuf Christi, a biochemical engineer who is working on a project in New Zealand to produce commercial quantities of micro-algal biomass.
