National Express has hired Michelin to maintain the tyres of all its vehicles in the company's West Midlands region.
The deal builds on the current partnership between the companies for Michelin to maintain the National Express fleets in Dundee, London and its AirLinks operation.
The Stoke-on-Trent-based firm will look to reduce the fleet carbon footprint and will be responsible for the upgrading of all of National Express' vehicles to Michelin's new X InCity tyres.
As part of the agreement teams of Michelin technicians will be permanently stationed at each National Express depot.
Jack Henry, operations director for National Express, said: "Safety is our number one priority. Our vehicles are typically on the road 18 hours a day, which places a high demand on the tyres. We're confident that fitting X InCity tyres across the fleet will bring additional benefits to both the company and our passengers."
According to Michelin, their company produces tyres for a multitude of industries, these include agriculture, heavy-truck, earthmoving and the aviation industry.
