In less than two weeks work will begin on the biggest zero carbon social housing development in the UK.
Located in Airedale in West Yorkshire, the scheme has been given the green light from the local council.
This will allow construction company Keepmoat to begin work soon on the estate, which will comprise 91 homes.
The zero carbon tag refers to Level Six housing projects in the country and represents one of the highest levels of energy efficiency.
Ashley Jones, design and build co-ordinator at Keepmoat said: "This scheme is the result of a lot of hard work from all the stakeholders involved in this project.
"The design has been carefully thought out to make the properties as energy efficient as possible. We're very proud that the scheme has got the go ahead and look forward to seeing work progress on site."
Solar panels, water recycling and biomass heating will all be used to improve the energy efficiency of the project.
