Installation of heat generation and conservation measures has exceeded expectations in Scotland.
A record number of central heating systems were installed in private homes under the Central Heating Programme.
About 14,430 heating systems were installed in 2008-09, a 61 per cent increase on the year before.
The rise in the number of systems installed has also seen waiting lists almost halved.
Housing and communities minister, Alex Neil said: "Because of better targeting, backed by record investment, the poorest and most vulnerable elderly have benefited.
"As the curtain comes down on the central heating and warm deal programmes, the £60 million Energy Assistance Package will take centre stage delivering more help to more people."
Insulation installation under the Warm Deal Programme was also ahead of expectations, with 6,018 private homes having the measures installed, surpassing the target by over 1,000.
Loft insulation can help homes reduce their energy bills by about £205 according to the Energy Saving Trust.
