Companies rolling out green fleets will find that they have made significant cost savings, it has been claimed.
Claudia Rose, corporate sales director at Lloyds TSB Autolease, explained that company cars and business travel were two areas where firms have large expenses.
She added that although many executives are "reluctant" to forgo previous luxuries like costly business cars, they should not see giving up a "status symbol" as a sacrifice.
"Boardroom favourites like BMW and Audi have taken giant leaps forward on running costs, with some of the most fuel and tax efficient vehicles around," Ms Rose said.
"The message is directors don't have to make the sacrifices they think they do. It's just about making sensible and responsible choices, which reflect well on you and your business."
Ms Rose's comments accompany a new survey by Lloyds TSB Autolease which found that 37 per cent of business leaders are not cutting down on costs, including those generated by company cars.
