Households in Scotland rang the government's helpline in large numbers for support and advice about heating bills during the cold weather earlier this month.
New figures from the Scottish government show that an average of 428 calls a day were taken, with almost 7,000 people calling in for information.
Severe weather conditions gripped the whole of the UK over Christmas and the first two weeks of January.
The mercury across the country dropped to its lowest point in decades, with some parts north of the border experiencing temperatures as low as -17.
Alex Neil, housing and communities minister for Scotland, said: "These figures show the Scottish government's £60 million Energy Assistance Package is doing exactly what it should be doing.
"It's getting help to those most in need, ensuring everyone, especially low-income families, the elderly and those on benefits are helped to reduce fuel bills and be more energy efficient. This was never more important than during the recent freezing conditions, when we saw temperatures plummet to 50-year lows."
