A new group has been established with the purpose of tackling climate change in Dartmoor, Devon.
Social enterprise Dartmoor Circle Limited will now work towards reducing carbon emissions in and around the national park to ensure its natural beauty is preserved.
According to Andrew Shadrake, chair of the new social enterprise company, the timing of the creation of the group was just right.
"As money is becoming tighter, people are looking for ways to save money as they help the planet," he explained.
"For example, people can save hundreds of pounds by driving more carefully and that also reduces the amount of carbon their cars emit."
The new enterprise was established by the Dartmoor Circle Network a team of 13 climate change groups which promote sustainability across the area.
They all signed the Dartmoor Protocol, which states that they will work together to protect the moor with 'one voice' which will represent the network's 2,000 members.
