The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has announced its plans to protect the local environment.
New plans, including the planting of 40 trees a year, have been announced by the council following a regional poll.
Residents across the borough were asked how they would like the council to mange the area's trees and woodland in the next ten years.
As well as the minimum planting requirements, residents suggested an 'adopt-a-tree' scheme in which people would be able to participate in caring for the local trees.
Councillor Alison Knight, lead council member for planning and the environment, commented: "This strategy will help to fulfil our manifesto commitment to plant more trees across the borough in the coming years.
"We are also determined to maintain our existing stock of trees and woodlands, and to create greater awareness of their value to the general health and well-being of our residents."
More trees in an area are not only to improve surroundings for residents, but they will also absorb some of the carbon dioxide emissions from local industry and transport.
