The Met Office has raised its heatwave warning as parts of Britain continue to enjoy scorching weather.
Forecasts predict temperatures of 33C in London tomorrow with hot conditions continuing into Friday.
As a result, and on the behalf of the Department of Health, the Met Office has today raised its heatwave plan alert level from two to three.
The level changes high temperatures have been reached and sustained in one or more regions, with two consecutive hot nights, a hot intervening day and a forecast of even higher temperatures for today and tomorrow.
English regions particularly affected by the heatwave and which have reached criteria for level three include London and the South East.
A statement released by the Department of Health had reminded people to remain aware of the risks faced by elderly friends and relatives during a heatwave.
