A new report has flagged up the possible health effects climate change could bring to the UK in the next fifty years.
The report by the Health Protection Agency and the Department of Health, which took into consideration the latest information and predictions about climate change in the UK, concluded that Britain was 'adapting well' to incremental and historical rising temperatures.
But the report noted that heatwaves and a higher risk of flooding posed an increased risk to health.
It notes a slight chance of malaria returning to southern England within the next 50 years.
Overall, the report highlights the health consequences for Britons if governments fail to act to on global warming.
Worst-case scenarios in the report predict serious heatwaves for South East England, malaria and tick-borne diseases, such as Lyme disease, flooding, more cases of food poisoning, including Salmonella and a greater incidence of skin cancers.
