There has been an increase in demand for alternative fuels in the UK, according to a new report.
BCA has published a study which indicates that, when analysing the price performance of petrol, diesel and alternative-powered cars, more and more people are looking to the latter.
Rising sales of hybrid vehicles as well as use of fuels apart from petrol and diesel illustrate a growing trend, with LPG/hybrid cars outperforming guide prices.
BCA communications director Tony Gannon remarked: "There is a groundswell of interest in alternative fuelled vehicles and this is reflected in the strong performance being recorded against guide values in a market that is otherwise seeing values in decline."
Mr Gannon attributed the rise in interest to the credit crunch and rise in fuel prices.
Local councils have recently been encouraged to become involved in an electric charging network by energy supplier EDF.
