Wind farm funds hall energy efficiency
A wind farm has paid for a local hall to be made more energy efficient.
Developers of the Winscales Moor Wind Farm currently under construction set up a community fund to support local projects, which handed £8,000 to the efficiency drive for the Little Clifton Village Hall.
Fundraised Josie Dixon told the Times and Star:" Over the past year we have made great strides to reduce our fuel bills and energy use.
"We have already replaced our old boiler and installed double glazed windows.
"The new roof and loft insulation will be the last major expense."
She added that she was grateful the grant from the fund set up by developer You Energy Ltd would cover all the remaining work so it could be completed by Christmas.
Your Energy has 11 other projects in place and is running a consultation at three other sites.
In 2008 it managed to secure planning consent for 64 megawatts of renewable energy capacity.
