Energy and water refurbishment support

Programme design and development

We can work with you to design and develop housing refurbishment programmes. Together, we can identify how to get the most out of your local energy network potential. We have worked for Wirral Borough Council, Hampshire County Council, Efficiency East Midlands, Efficiency North, Leeds City Region and Leeds Federation.

Programme brokerage

We can act as a broker between utilities and local authorities or Registered Providers to ensure resources are targeting the right areas and increasing the take-up of the energy and water saving measures, whether via Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT), Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP), or the integration of water devices into local housing refurbishment programmes. We have provided brokerage for United Utilities and Bristol Water.

Microgeneration incentive guidance

We can provide you with a range of guides, presentations and events which are designed to take you step by step through the process for the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) and Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).

Economic Impact Tool

This tool calculates the financial savings made, direct sales created, gross value added and jobs created or safeguarded for housing refurbishment programmes. We can create a robust economic case for new and continued investment in refurbishment programmes. We have provided economic impact assessments for Sheffield City Council, Bristol City Council and West of England Local Enterprise Partnership. We are currently evaluating Liverpool city region‘s Renewables and Energy Efficiency in Community Housing £16 million initiative.

Water Energy Calculator

This online tool can help you quantify your customers’ water and water-related energy use and savings, and carbon emissions. It can be integrated as part of your own website services or provided as a ‘stand-alone’ software programme for in home audits. We have provided the Water Energy Calculator to United Utilities, Thames Water, Southern Water, South East Water, Yorkshire Water, Wessex Water, Anglian Water and the Eden Project.

What our clients say

“Energy Saving Trust provided expert advice and guidance to Wirral Council during the development and delivery of their Warmer Wirral Free Insulation Programme. They provided key insight into the scale and type of measures to target, options for delivery and the likely return on investment. During the delivery they provided Endorsed Advice training to front line staff meeting face-to- face with Wirral residents, and Home Energy Checks to enable important information to be captured on the door step and efficient action to be taken.”
Ed Kingsley, Principal Officer Home Energy Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council
