Save money and access new resources

Signing the Declaration can help local authorities to save money and access new resources. As we have seen, signing can act as a catalyst for a more concerted effort on climate change. There are many examples of significant savings that have resulted from sustainable energy measures introduced by councils. For example Kent County Council estimate that they are saving £160,000 annually after receiving support from Salix Finance. As well as Salix Finance, there are many other resources that local authorities can access for work on sustainable energy and climate change.
