Cambridgeshire's scrutiny review on climate change

Cambridgeshire's scrutiny review on climate change

In 2004 Members of Cambridgeshire County Council decided to carry out a review of the Council's preparedness for climate change. A small scrutiny panel was set up and co-opted a member of staff from the Centre for Environmental Risk at the University of East Anglia. The review made 17 recommendations for implementation by senior managers across all three of the Council's departments. Cabinet agreed all the recommendations. The Council had already prepared a draft climate change strategy when the Scrutiny review took place. The strategy was revised to take account of the review's conclusions and this resulted in a better strategy.
