Refresh the Action Plan(s)
Refresh the Action Plan(s) regularly in the light of information about implementation and progress against the long-term vision and targets.
You will need to establish a mechanism for the regular review and refresh of the Action Plan(s). A timetable for the review and refresh should be included in the Action Plan(s).
The review is likely to be lead by the implementation team, but this would also be an appropriate moment to consult elected members, staff, partners, other stakeholders and the local community.
The review might consider:
- Have the national policy drivers changed since the Action Plan was developed?
- What are the views of elected members, staff, partners, other stakeholders and the local community?
- Do the vision and targets remain relevant and convincing?
- How well is implementation progressing?
- What is the progress against the vision and targets?
- Are there new opportunities that could be tapped?
- Are there barriers that need to be addressed?
- What do trends in emissions (both own estate and local authority area) indicate should be priorities for the next few years?
This information can be used to update the Action Plan.
