Grants & offers: UK

House with Solar Photo Voltaic panels fitted
Thousands of people across the UK are using the power of the sun, wind, wood, water, air and ground to generate heat and electricity.

If you'd like to generate your own energy from renewable resources, financial incentives are available through various government funded programmes. Heat generating technologies such as heat pumps, solar hot water and biomass may be eligible for grant funding through the Energy Saving Scotland home renewables grant scheme (for people in Scotland). Clean energy cash back schemes such as Feed in Tariffs are in place for electricity generating technologies.

You can apply for a maximum grant of £2,500 for up to three of the following types of technology:

And you’ll also be able to apply for grants for the following technologies when certified products and installers become available on the market:

  • Wood-fuelled boilers
  • Renewable combined heat and power (CHP)
  • Micro CHP
  • Fuel cells
