Dishwashers
Pay less for clean dishes. It costs around half as much to run a cycle on an energy saving dishwasher as it does on an inefficient machine. To add to the benefits, Energy Saving Recommended dishwashers also use less water.
The savings
An Energy Saving Recommended dishwasher uses 40% less energy which will save you around £23 per year on your electricity bill and 90 kilograms of CO 2. And if your water is metered, you'll also save money by using less water per wash cycle.
How the savings add up
If everyone in the UK replaced their old dish washer with an Energy Saving Recommended model £110 million a year would be saved and 440,000 tonnes of CO 2.
Look for the logo
Always look for the Energy Saving Recommended logo when you purchase your dishwasher. It's your guarantee that these products are the most energy efficient in their category, will cost less to run and help prevent climate change.

More energy saving ideas
Always try to wash a full load. A half load setting usually uses more than half the energy of a full load; so if you do two half loads you'll use more energy than doing one full one.
Always remember to switch appliances off standby when you've finished using them. Incredibly, over £910million worth of energy is wasted in the UK every year by people leaving appliances on standby.
