Procter and Gamble

Partnership working in the North East

Following the successful national partnership between the Energy Saving Trust and Proctor and Gamble for the Ariel's Turn to 30 campaign, Laura Middlemass (Business Project Manager for the Energy Saving Trust advice centre in the North East) was invited to attend Proctor and Gamble's local Green Team meeting at their offices in Long Benton.

At this meeting, Laura highlighted the many offers and services available to the team, highlighting the benefits to Procter and Gamble of local initiatives promoting energy saving in the workplace and the homes of their staff members here in the North East region.

At the meeting, a list of various initiatives was agreed and these have been rolling out at the Long Benton offices including:

  • events for staff to provide them with advice about saving energy at home and through smarter driving techniques.
  • Energy Advisors accompanying the Green Team representative on her tour of the departmental development meetings. This was to give a joint approach to saving energy and reducing waste at Procter and Gamble and at home.
  • Resources also available for Procter and Gamble to use include the free home energy checks, online and web resources, marketing, PR and communication support.
