For retailers

We work with retailers of energy saving products – including retailers with multiple outlets, independents, merchants and DIY stores and online retailers – to promote the benefits of energy efficiency, deliver savings messages and signpost consumers to choose the best energy saving products available when buying for their home.

The label, used in conjunction with our marketing materials, help consumers to make an informed choice and provide a compelling reason for your customers to purchase your Energy Saving Trust Recommended products.

They actively look for products we certify and trust them over others in the market. By differentiating the energy saving products you sell, the Energy Saving Trust Recommended scheme can help improve your brand perception, drive sales and demonstrate corporate social responsibility.

To help us provide you with the most relevant information, we define retailers and manufacturers and suppliers as follows:

A retailer: sells products directly to end consumers, but does not manufacture the product or supply a product manufactured by a third party.

A manufacturer: is the original producer of the product.

A supplier: supplies product manufactured by a third party, but does not manufacture the product itself. NB - the product may be branded with the supplier's own details and the manufacturer may not be identifiable (as in the case of an 'own brand' product manufactured by a third party on behalf of a supplier).

If you think you are a manufacturer and/or supplier, please visit that page.

Licensed Retailers

Licensed Retailers are charged a single annual fee covering the licence to use the Energy Saving Trust label with certified products retailed.  There are two licensed retailer packages available.

Licensed Retailer ‘Plus’ at £295 is for retailers that want access to our full suite of marketing resources and support to help them maximise the promotional and sales opportunities to sell Energy Saving Trust Recommended products in-store, online and in press and advertising material.  Existing licensed retailers will stay on this package by default until their renewal date when they can choose which service best suits their needs.

Licensed Retailer ‘Lite’ is a lower-cost option at £150 for retailers that only want to access a limited range of marketing resources and support but includes the coveted label, point-of-sale material, web and press tools in the package.
