For manufacturers and suppliers
Using the label on your products makes it simple for consumers to identify your energy saving products when buying for their home. Plus, featuring the label gives them the assurance that they are buying products recommended for their energy efficiency performance by an independent and trusted body that will use less energy, save them money on their energy bills and help them ‘do their bit’ for the environment.
They actively look for products we certify and trust them over others in the market. By differentiating the energy saving products you sell, the Energy Saving Trust Recommended scheme can help improve your brand perception, drive sales and demonstrate corporate social responsibility.
“The idea is to have an independent endorsement that is widely recognised across all the different product categories, especially as there is inconsistent environmental messaging.” (Peter Hainsworth, Sony).
To help us provide you with the most relevant information, we define retailers and manufacturers and suppliers as follows:
A retailer: sells products directly to end consumers, but does not manufacture the product or supply a product manufactured by a third party.
A manufacturer: is the original producer of the product.
A supplier: supplies product manufactured by a third party, but does not manufacture the product itself. NB - the product may be branded with the supplier's own details and the manufacturer may not be identifiable (as in the case of an 'own brand' product manufactured by a third party on behalf of a supplier).
