Fees
The Energy Saving Trust Recommended fees have recently been reviewed and have received positive support from our consultation with industry.
- New fees were implemented on 1st April 2012 for existing certified companies and licensed retailers (coming into effect on their 2012/13 renewal date).
- New fees were implemented on 1st March 2012 for new companies joining the scheme.
Manufacturers and suppliers
The fees for manufacturers and suppliers are calculated according to the number of product categories in which a company wishes to certify products. Payment of the company certification fee allows companies to apply to certify unlimited eligible products in your chosen categories on an annual basis and to maintain existing products on the scheme. There will be no separate product fees.
The fee is £2,000 per product category

Licensed Retailers
Licensed Retailers will be charged a single annual fee covering the license to use the Energy Saving Trust label with certified products retailed. There are now two licensed retailer packages available which we have introduced in response to feedback from retailers.
Licensed Retailer ‘Plus’
At £295 is for retailers that want access to our full suite of marketing resources and support to help them maximise the promotional and sales opportunities to sell Energy Saving Trust Recommended products in-store, online and in press and advertising material. Existing licensed retailers will stay on this package by default until their renewal date when they can choose which service best suits their needs.
Licensed Retailer ‘Lite’
Recommended 'lite' is a lower-cost option at £150 for retailers that only want to access a limited range of marketing resources and support but includes the coveted label, point-of-sale material, web and press tools in the package.

The aim is to make the fees simpler; offer better value to our clients; make applying for product certification quicker and enable companies to plan, budget and manage their Energy Saving Trust Recommended certification fees more effectively.
The annual fees will also provide clients with access to the range of resources, marketing support and customer service provided by the scheme.
